There have been rumors that Ram Charan is constantly working on period dramas. While “RRR” was a completely period piece, the upcoming Shankar’s “Game Changer” contains a flashback episode that spans decades. Similarly, many speculated that Ram Charan’s new film (#RC16) would be a period story set in the British era.

The film is a sports drama. It is also not set in the British era, as Aamir Khan’s “Lagaan” was.

According to our sources, the film is set on a seaside town. The coastal lands of Vizag and East Godavari districts form the main base for the visuals. Ram Charan will also speak the same dialect.

Director Buchi Babu is said to have written a strong, emotional story. Ram Charan was reportedly impressed by the tight script.

AR Rahman is composing music for the film. Rahman is a master at creating emotional background music for films. The film will begin shooting later this year.
