‘A good day for the Telugu film industry’

Along with Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Rajamouli, Koratala Siva, Posani Krishna Murali, Ali, R Narayana Murthy, and producer Niranjan Reddy, megastar Chiranjeevi today met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Vijayawada.

The meeting went fruitful, said Chiranjeevi.

“Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy responded positively to all our concerns. The government will issue a new G.O about ticket rates in another ten days. We have been trying to save the small budgeted movies, and Jagan garu agreed to allow the fifth show for small movies in the state. Chief Minister also wants to develop Vishakapatnam as a hub for the Telugu film industry on par with Hyderabad,” Chiranjeevi said.

“Today is a good day for the Telugu film industry. I thank Chief Minister YS Jagan garu from the bottom of my heart for his proactive approach. I also thank Chiranjeevi for initiating this meeting. For five or six months, the Telugu film industry has been in a state of confusion. Today, the prospects look bright,” Mahesh Babu thanked CM.
Prabhas also thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan, Chiranjeevi, and Minister Perni Nani for the fruitful talks.

Important points from the meeting

• A new G.O with hiked ticket rates will come before the end of February.
• A special committee will be formed to provide discounts and benefits to big-budgeted films.
• The fifth show will be given to small films.
• Vizag will be developed as a film hub and land would be given to film studios.
