Aamir Khan produced “EK Din,” starring his son Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi. However, the film turned out to be a major box-office disappointment, failing to sustain even for a day in theatres.
The movie marked Sai Pallavi’s debut in Hindi cinema. Interestingly, even before the release, she had reportedly admitted that she felt miscast in the role. Many also pointed out similarities between “EK Din” and her earlier Telugu film “Padi Padi Leche Manasu” opposite Sharwanand, making the pairing and setup feel less fresh to audiences.
Despite the film’s poor performance, Aamir Khan has chosen not to blame the cast or the film’s casting decisions. While expressing disappointment over the box-office result, he reportedly maintained that the failure cannot be pinned on Sai Pallavi or any individual actor.
Both as an actor and producer, Aamir Khan has been facing a challenging phase in recent years, with several projects struggling to meet expectations commercially.
