Actor and film critic Kathi Mahesh passes away

Kathi Mahesh, the popular film critic and actor, passes away on Saturday. He met with a road accident in Nellore district last month. He was shifted to a Chennai Apollo hospital for better treatment where he breathed his last.

He was 45 and survived by a wife and son. 

Kathi Mahesh began his career as a film critic. Later he turned actor and film director. He directed films like ‘Pesarattu’ and wrote films such as ‘Egise Tarajuvvalu’. He had also played many films. His recent appearance as an actor was in Ravi Teja’s ‘Krack’.

Kathi Mahesh had also participated in the first season of ‘Bigg Boss Telugu’. He also campaigned for the YSRC party in Andhra Pradesh in the last general elections. He was also known as a Dalit activist. 

His Facebook posts and his comments during TV channel discussions made him popular, sometimes dragged into controversies.
