“Akhanda 2″ not only ended its first weekend on an underwhelming note but is also showing worrying trends during the weekdays. With five days of its theatrical run completed, the film’s collections on its first Monday and Tuesday clearly indicate that a bounce-back is unlikely.
Typically, films witness a drop on Monday, and if Tuesday holds at similar levels, it signals stability going into the second week. However, Akhanda 2 saw a further decline on Tuesday, confirming a steady downward trend during the weekdays.
Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Srinu, Akhanda 2 released on December 12 amid muted expectations. The film’s delayed release, coupled with Thaman’s underwhelming soundtrack, significantly dented pre-release buzz. Even the teasers and trailers failed to create the kind of excitement expected from a sequel of this scale.
As a result, Akhanda 2 arrived in theatres like a routine release rather than a much-anticipated sequel. The frenzy usually associated with big sequels, such as Pushpa 2, was noticeably absent.

Adding to the film’s woes, poor reviews and negative word of mouth have further impacted collections. Whether Akhanda 2 can register any growth during the second weekend remains uncertain. For now, the film appears to be heading towards heavy losses.
