Recently, a content creator circulated AI-generated videos involving Akira Nandan, son of actor and politician Pawan Kalyan. The videos quickly went viral, raising concerns about the misuse of Akira’s identity for online monetization by exploiting both his name and Pawan Kalyan’s massive fan following.
In response, Akira Nandan approached the Delhi High Court, seeking legal intervention. Acting swiftly, the court issued an injunction order, directing content creators and social media users to refrain from using Akira Nandan’s name, images, or likeness without his consent.
This marks a rare and notable instance where the son of a leading actor—without making his acting debut—has sought judicial protection against unauthorised digital content and AI misuse.
Industry observers point out that Akira’s move is both timely and justified, especially as he is expected to enter films in the near future. Unchecked AI-generated content and fabricated videos could dilute public curiosity and impact the hype surrounding his eventual debut. By taking legal action early, Akira Nandan has set a clear boundary against identity misuse in the age of AI.
