After a long gap, a Telugu film is witnessing massive mania on a global scale. From Visakhapatnam to Washington, from Hyderabad to Dallas, the craze around Pawan Kalyan’s “They Call Him OG” aka “OG” has reached sky-high levels, with advance bookings already surpassing Rs 75 crore worldwide.
Pawan Kalyan is known as the king of openings, though his recent Hari Hara Veera Mallu failed to meet expectations and couldn’t set records. But with OG, the hype has grown organically, and even with minimal promotions, the film has reached unprecedented levels. Premiere shows have already begun across the world.
Day one collections for “OG” are projected to be in the range of Rs 125 crore to Rs 150 crore—an all-time record for Pawan Kalyan and among the biggest ever openings in Indian cinema.
This gangster action thriller, directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya, showcases a new side of Pawan Kalyan’s stylish acting. He plays Ojas Gambheera, while Priyanka Arul Mohan appears as his wife. The film’s music, composed by Thaman, has already become a rage.
Despite content delays, court orders on ticket rates, and limited promotions, “OG” is creating mayhem at the box office and is all set to unleash an even bigger firestorm on its opening day across the globe.
