The whole issue of the stampede at Sandhya Theater during the premiere show of “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” in which a woman died and her son injured, has snowballed into a political storm. Both the Telangana government and Allu Arjun are in defense and offense mode in this whole issue.
With Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy raising the issue in the assembly and thereafter one after another from the cinematography minister, DGP, police commissioner, and ACP holding press meets and talking against Allu Arjun, the whole issue became a burning topic. Allu Arjun holding a press meet in response to CM’s assembly speech complicated matters further.
Videos tell different picture
After police commissioner CV Anand released videos showing that Allu Arjun went to the theater to see Sandhya in a rally way, the actor received flak. It was even mentioned that the actor lied about some aspects of this whole issue. Then it seemed Allu Arjun was in total defense, and the government seemed to be getting an edge in its argument.
But the attack by OU JAC on Allu Arjun’s residence changed everything.
More to it than what appears
The attack on Allu Arjun’s residence led people to realize that the issue is more complex than it first appears. There seem to be some other issues at play. But after the attack, CM Revanth Reddy realized that the government gets a bad name for handling law and order situations, and he immediately posted on social media ordering police higher officials to set things right, and the CM also warned police officials unrelated to the case making comments. A particular police officer’s remarks against Allu Arjun and the film industry shocked everyone.
Should have avoided a confrontational approach
There have been many mistakes in Allu Arjun’s camp. After the tragic stampede, he should have carefully trodden the path and avoided the confrontational approach with the government. The arrest and subsequent developments should have been dealt with legally and avoided unnecessary going into offense mode.
Both parties in defense mode
On Sunday, Allu Arjun also made an appeal to his fans not to post abusive messages on social media. After the attack on their residence, Allu Aravind appealed to everyone not to aggravate the situation and said police have swiftly taken action against those who attacked.
On the other hand, BJP leaders alleged that CM Revanth Reddy was trying to make the film industry move to Vizag. So, both Allu Arjun and the Telugu government have landed in defense now.
