Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is set to commence shooting for “Kalki 2,” the sequel to Prabhas starrer “Kalki 2898 AD.” In the first installment, Amitabh Bachchan played the immortal warrior Ashwatthama in director Nag Ashwin’s ambitious sci-fi epic, delivering a powerful performance that significantly boosted the film’s Hindi market success.
According to the latest buzz, Amitabh Bachchan will begin filming his portions before Prabhas joins the sets. Since his character involves extensive visual effects work — including enhanced height and larger-than-life presentation — the makers reportedly want to complete his sequences at the earliest to streamline post-production.
Prabhas is currently busy with “Spirit” and “Fauji,” and is expected to allocate dates for “Kalki 2” alongside these commitments. The sequel is being mounted on an even bigger scale than the first part.
“Kalki 2” will also see Kamal Haasan returning as Supreme Yaskin, with a more substantial and extended role this time.
Produced by Ashwini Dutt under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner, the dystopian saga also featured Vijay Deverakonda in a guest appearance in the first installment.
