‘Annagaru Vostaru’ postponed at the last minute

December 2025 has turned into a month of last-minute financial hurdles and sudden postponements for several films. First it was “Akhanda 2.” Now Karthi’s “Annagaru Vostaru” has also been affected.

“Akhanda 2,” originally slated for a December 5 release, was pushed to December 12 due to legal issues. Similarly, a financier approached the Madras High Court demanding that producer K. E. Gnanavel Raja clear pending dues before the release of “Annagaru Vostaru” (titled Vaa Vaathiyaar in Tamil).

The Madras High Court has now ordered the producer to settle the outstanding amount and has stayed the release of the film on any platform until repayment is confirmed.

Overseas distributor Prathyangira Cinemas announced the postponement, stating: “Studio Green production has informed us that #VaaVaathiyaar (Tamil) and #AnnagaruVostaru (Telugu) have been postponed from their planned release on December 12 due to unforeseen circumstances.”

Annagaru Vostaru, starring Karthi and Krithi Shetty, is directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. The dark comedy includes a reference to late NTR. Both Karthi and Krithi Shetty had completed promotional activities earlier this week in Hyderabad.
