AR Rahman, the Oscar-winning music composer, is making a long-awaited return to the Telugu film industry. Rahman has signed on to compose for Ram Charan’s 16th film (#RC16). The music director confirmed his participation in this project.
The film is being directed by Buchi Babu Sana, who made a sensational debut with “Uppena”. Set against the backdrop of Uttarandhra region, the untitled film is a sports drama.
Ram Charan will sport a unique getup. As Telugucinema.com reported earlier, Janhvi Kapoor is being considered to play the female lead.
AR Rahman composed music for a number of straight Telugu films, including Mahesh Babu’s “Nani,” “Gangmaster,” and Pawan Kalyan’s “Komaram Puli.”
Although Buchi Babu’s “Uppena” was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the director wanted Rahman as the film needed a kind of background score the Academy winning director is famous for.
