AR Rahman’s wife announces separation from him

Trouble arose in the life of Oscar-winning composer and globally recognized top music composer AR Rahman. AR Rahman’s wife, Saira, announced separation from him. Her lawyer, Vandana Shah, released Saira’s statement to the media.

AR Rahman and Saira got married in 1995 and are parents to three children: Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen. Her statement said she took this decision after significant emotional strain in their relationship.

“After many years of marriage, Mrs Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband Mr AR Rahman. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time,” the statement read.

AR Rahman won an Oscar for his musical score for “Slumdog Millionaire.” He is currently composing music for Ram Charan’s “RC16.”
