Bhagyashri Borse: Two crucial tests this month

Bhagyashri Borse is one actress who managed to bag several high-profile projects even before tasting box-office success. With her charming screen presence, she caught the attention of many filmmakers, leading to multiple offers in Telugu cinema.

However, both her Telugu outings so far (Ravi Teja’s Mr. Bachchan and Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom) failed to make an impact commercially. This month could be a turning point, as she faces two crucial releases that may redefine her trajectory.

The first to arrive in theatres is “Kaantha,” a Malayalam–Telugu bilingual starring Dulquer Salmaan. Jointly produced by Rana Daggubati and Dulquer, the film is a period drama set in British-era Madras and revolves around the early film industry. Bhagyashri plays an actress in the story. This is a solid role that could earn her critical appreciation. Given Dulquer’s knack for strong scripts and his consistent success rate, Kaantha offers Bhagyashri a solid chance to score her first hit. The film releases on November 14.

Her second test comes with “Andhra King Taluka,” one of the season’s most-awaited Telugu releases starring Ram Pothineni. The film has a meta touch, as Ram plays a die-hard fan of a movie superstar portrayed by Upendra. Bhagyashri essays Ram’s love interest in the film.

With catchy songs and strong pre-release buzz, “Andhra King Taluka” is expected to open big, especially with Ram Pothineni’s extensive promotional campaign. If either of these films clicks, Bhagyashri Borse could finally cement her place among the promising young actresses in the South.
