Can Akhanda make it for Dussera?


Dussera festival is one of the most important periods for Telugu theatrical business after the summer and Sankranthi seasons. Generally, big movies lock Dussera season in advance, but 2021 is a different case due to the uncertain situation that arose from the second wave of the pandemic.

Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ has been moved out of Dussera 2021 period. There is a talk that Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda’ is planning to hit the screens on October 8th. However, inside sources say the post-production on the film is getting delayed.

Touted to be an action entertainer, ‘Akhanda’ marks the collaboration of Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu for the third time. The film wrapped its entire shooting part except for two songs.

The makers are planning to unveil the first song composed by SS Thaman next month.

The film has plenty of VFX work to be completed. If the film completes its post-production work by the end of September, ‘Akhanda’ will hit the screens for the Dussera festival. Or it may be pushed to December.

Starring Balakrishna in a dual role, the action drama as Pragya Jaiswal and Poorna as the leading ladies. Miryala Ravinder Reddy is producing the film.
