Megastar Chiranjeevi and actor Mohan Babu were thick friends in the 1980s and 1990s. Mohan Babu had acted with Chiranjeevi in many films, mostly in negative characters. But they had an ugly fall-out in the early 2000s.
They never hid their differences in public space. Mohan Babu made caustic remarks on several occasions, the most famous being the ‘Legend-Celebrity’ controversy on Telugu Cinema Vajrotsavam in 2007. Later, Pawan Kalyan also gave a befitting reply to Mohan Babu on the public forum.
But Mohan Babu and Chiranjeevi have later buried their differences and started bonding again. Their children – Ram Charan, Vishnu, Manoj, and Lakshmi Manchu – became stars. Chiranjeevi and Mohan Babu have started showing off their friendship in public spaces again. They recently went to Sikkim together for a weekend gateway.
Furthermore, Chiranjeevi had showered all the affection on Mohan Babu at MAA diary launch event last year. Plus, he even lent a voice-over to Mohan Babu’s upcoming film, Son of India.
But has this bonhomie has any real value? Mohan Babu and Chiranjeevi’s families are at loggerheads again.
It looks like the so-called ‘friendship’ between them is not that deep enough. Mohan Babu’s son Vishnu is fighting against Prakash Raj, who has Chiranjeevi’s support in the upcoming MAA elections.
The seniors in the movie industry say the friendship among the actors is a myth, it is just a façade.
