The second single from “Devara” sparked a great deal of debate and discussion. The song “Chuttamalle,” composed by Anirudh Ravichander and written by Ramajogayya Sastry, starred NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. The song depicts the heroine (Janhvi Kapoor) confessing her lover for her hero (NTR) and how his thoughts consumed her.
However, music fans were quick to pick out the similarities between “Chuttamalle” and the popular Sri Lankan song “Manike Mage Hithe”. Chamath Sangeeth created the Sri Lankan song, which Yohani sang.
While Anirudh Ravichander has yet to reply to the copy tune controversy, the original music director stated that he was pleased with Anirudh drawing inspiration from his song.
He wrote, “Always been an admirer of Anirudh’s work. I’m happy to see my song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ has inspired him to create something similar.”
