North America: Maa Inti Bangaaram crosses half-million dollars

Samantha’s comeback film “Maa Inti Bangaaram” has opened strongly in North America, crossing the half-million-dollar mark on its first day, including premiere collections.

The film grossed an impressive $280K from Thursday premieres and added another $250K on Friday, taking its total North America gross to approximately $533K (Rs 5.02 crore).

The momentum has continued into its second day, with trade circles reporting encouraging trends. Going by the current pace, the film is comfortably on track to cross the $1 million milestone by the end of its opening weekend.

Samantha has delivered several million-dollar grossers in North America over the years, and “Maa Inti Bangaaram” is set to join that list. The strong response is particularly significant as it marks her first theatrical release in nearly three years.

Directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy, the film marks the third collaboration between the filmmaker and Samantha. Like their earlier success “Oh! Baby”, this film too appears to be striking a chord with audiences and heading towards a successful box-office run.
