“Agent” was a film with high expectations. It was also well-publicized. However, audiences completely rejected the film. It received nothing but negative reviews and word-of-mouth was even worse. As a result, the film’s collections began to decline on the first day.
The second day was a disaster. The theaters were nearly empty on Sunday. It was a colossal failure. Akhil Akkineni had high hopes for the film, but it turned out to be the biggest flop of his fledgling career.
Mani Ratnam’s “PS 2” collected well on Saturday and Sunday, with strong showings in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
But the real winner is Sai Dharam Tej’s “Virupaksha,” which reclaimed the top spot in the second weekend following the failure of “Agent.” It has now collected Rs 30 crore in Telugu states in 10 days.
