Comedian Ali gets no RS ticket

A couple of months ago, Comedian Ali received congratulatory messages from all celebrities as news reports suggested that he would be taking oath as a Rajya Sabha MP. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy promised him the RS seat as he is a popular Muslim face in his party.

However, the speculative reports turned out to be false. Producer Niranjan Reddy got an RS ticket, but not the actor. Ali joined the YSRC party just before the 2019 elections. He has been hoping to become MP.

Ali has been waiting to hear the good news from CM Jagan. He preferred his friend and producer Niranjan Reddy over Ali. The comedian’s hopes were dashed with the announcement of Niranjan Reddy. He may have to wait or take any other post in the state.

Ali is currently hosting TV shows and appearing in films occasionally.
