Teja Sajja’s “Mirai” opened to positive response from both critics and audiences, registering a strong box office performance on its first day (September 12). According to trade trackers, the film collected a whopping Rs 12 crore nett in India on opening day.
A massive 90% of the total collection came from the Telugu version, with over Rs 11 crore nett from the Telugu states alone. This is a significant achievement for Teja Sajja. This marks his second consecutive strong opening, following the success of “Hanu Man” last year.
The Hindi version contributed just over Rs 1 crore nett, while the Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions registered minimal to no collections.
Directed as a blend of mythology, action, and superhero drama, “Mirai” follows the journey of a young warrior entrusted with protecting the nine sacred scriptures that hold the power of immortality.
