Day 1: ‘Pushpa 2’ rules the North India box office

Pushpa 2

The first-day collections for a Hindi-dubbed film from South India are at an astonishing level. “Pushpa 2” created this sensation. The film posted a new record in North India by collecting more than the previous record holder—Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan.”

While noted Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh has declared that the Hindi version collected a nett of Rs 72 Cr on its first day in India, other trade experts have reported a total of Rs 67 Cr. In either case, it appears to have set new records in North India.

Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” had the record of collecting Rs 65.50 Cr on the first day. “Pushpa 2” broke it.

Allu Arjun and director Sukumar targeted the Hindi audience when creating “Pushpa 2: The Rule” as evidenced by the film’s success in the Hindi hinterland. The first part of the film was a hit in Hindi and its subsequent rise in popularity following its release on OTT platforms.

It’s not surprising that the Hindi version of the film garnered such a substantial amount of revenue. With this, Allu Arjun established his market in North India. It remains to be seen how much more the Hindi version would collect.

“Pushpa 2: The Rule” set a number of records in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on its first day.
