Nayanthara has long been regarded as the highest-paid actress in South Indian cinema. Known for standing firm on her remuneration, she rarely agrees to reduce her fee.
Recently, director Anil Ravipudi revealed that she was initially reluctant to join “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu” when producers requested a rebate to manage the film’s budget. After discussions, she reportedly agreed to come on board for Rs 8 crore (plus GST), although her usual fee is said to be around Rs 10 crore plus GST.
However, things appear different with the pan-Indian biggie “Toxic”. The film stars Yash in the lead role, with Kiara Advani playing the primary female lead opposite him.
According to industry buzz, Kiara Advani demanded a higher paycheck than Nayanthara for the film. While Nayanthara reportedly received around Rs 10 crore for her role, Kiara is said to have secured Rs 12 crore, as she plays the main romantic interest in the film. This marks a significant jump in Kiara’s remuneration.
Interestingly, Kiara Advani was reportedly paid around Rs 5 crore for “Game Changer”, making her “Toxic” paycheck more than double her previous earnings.
“Toxic” is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
