Producer Dil Raju stated that recent developments in the Telugu film industry were miscommunicated to the Andhra Pradesh government. He also blamed the media for wrongly projecting the producers’ and theatre exhibitors’ meetings as a call for a theatre strike.
Dil Raju was responding to the Andhra Pradesh government’s recent press note, which stated that the Home Secretary had been directed to investigate who initiated the idea of a theatre strike just ahead of the release of Pawan Kalyan’s film “Hari Hara Veera Mallu.” The government also announced plans to inspect the theatrical business in the state.
Following the government’s statement, producer Allu Aravind addressed the media, urging not to associate him with “Aa Naluguru” and distanced himself from the controversy. Now, Dil Raju—whose name has prominently surfaced in this issue—has also spoken to the media.
Pawan Kalyan is helping the industry!
Speaking on the matter, he said, “After Pawan Kalyan became the Deputy Chief Minister, producers began approaching his office regarding ticket price revisions and other industry-related benefits. He gave us easy access and was open to discussions.”
Dil Raju emphasized that there was no wrongdoing and that a communication gap may have caused the misunderstandings.

He further stated that no one would dare to even think about stopping a Pawan Kalyan movie, let alone call for a theatre strike. “The strike plan was never finalized. It was just a proposal. Even before the meetings and consultations at the chamber were completed, the media projected it as if a shutdown was confirmed. That caused the problem. In my thirty years of career, except during the COVID-19 crisis, theatres have never been shut,” he added.
