Senior producer Allu Aravind addressed the media today to firmly clarify that he is not part of the so-called “Aa Naluguru”. This term is being used to describe a group of four influential figures allegedly controlling the theatrical landscape in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Requesting the media to refrain from associating his name with the group, Aravind stated, “Our company does not own a single theater in Telangana. Even in Andhra Pradesh, our lease agreements for theaters have ended. At present, we operate only about 15 theaters in the state.”
He emphasized that Geetha Arts, his production company, is primarily focused on film production and does not control the theatrical business.
Seeking to distance himself from the ongoing controversy in the industry, he also criticized the recent meeting held about the theater strike, pointing out that many key issues affecting the industry were not even discussed.
Clarifying further, Aravind said he does not own any stake in Qube India, a major digital projection service provider, and added that D. Suresh Babu has no ownership in UFO, another digital content delivery platform widely used in theaters.
With this press meet, Allu Aravind has made it clear he wishes to steer clear of the current theater-related disputes and dissociate himself from the alleged monopoly in the industry.
