Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the latest celebrity to be grilled by Enforcement Directorate (ED). In the last couple of years, Enforcement Directorate has questioned several actors related to several cases.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was summoned by the ED in connection with the Panama papers.
The 48-year-old actress is a global icon and ruled the Indian cinema industry for many years. Aishwarya Rai, the wife of Abhishek Bachchan and the daughter-in-law of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, is facing allegations of stashing wealth abroad.
The Bachchan family is said to be very close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Enforcement Directorate started investigating alleged forex violations in 2017 and had summed her twice before.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has not acted in any films in the last couple of years.
