“Dasara” benefited greatly from its hype and buzz. The first weekend box office performance of the revenge drama starring Nani and Keerthy Suresh surprised trade pundits and film analysts. “Dasara” collected Rs 33 crore (share) in Telugu states in four days.
In the United States, the film grossed $1.6 million, making it Nani’s highest-grossing film. In just four days, “Dasara” earned nearly Rs 44 crore (share) worldwide.
The film became a dream debut for newcomer Srikanth Odela, who directed it. Audiences responded positively to the high technical standards and strong performances.
Only the Telugu version clicks
“Dasara” performed better in Telangana and the United States than in Andhra Pradesh. Despite the fact that the film was released in five Indian languages, the non-Telugu version contributed very little. 90% of the film’s revenue came from the Telugu version.
