Tharun Bhascker continues his streak of headlining concept-driven films, and his latest outing, “Gaayapadda Simham,” promises a blend of topical humor and light-hearted drama. The actor plays a youngster whose biggest dream is to settle in the USA. Just when he is preparing to make the move, his plans are thrown into chaos after US President Donald Trump announces the largest deportation operation in American history. What happens next, and how his dreams come crashing down, forms the crux of the film.
The makers unveiled the film’s traiser (teaser + trailer) today. It opens with Subhalekha Sudhakar narrating the story to actress Faria Abdullah, setting a playful tone right away. The trailer cleverly circles back to nostalgia, ending with a recreated “Pelli Choopulu” moment featuring Tharun Bhascker and Faria, with her cheekily asking his opinion about the 2015 film.
Packed with quirky humor, the trailer offers plenty of fun moments while hinting at a promising storyline. The film is directed by Kasyap Sreenivas and stars Maanasa Choudhary as Tharun’s love interest, with Vishnu Oi playing his close friend.
“Gaayapadda Simham” is produced by Kalyana Chakravarthy Manthina, Bhanu Kiran Pratapa, Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni, and Umesh Bansal under the banners of Saptaswa Media Works, POV Stories, and Zee Studios, and is presented by noted filmmaker Pavan Sadineni. The makers have confirmed a Summer 2026 release.
