Films such as “Oke Okkadu” and “Bharateeyudu” demonstrate Shankar’s adeptness in integrating political topics with commercial components, creating an engaging entertainment experience for diverse audiences. He established a standard for blockbuster films in the 1990s and 2000s.
Recently, Shankar has deviated from his original style and is experiencing difficulty in regaining his former prowess. The trailer for “Game Changer,” however, suggests that he has returned to his original style.
The trailer suggests that the tale revolves around politics in Andhra Pradesh. Ram Charan portrays Appanna, a people’s leader, and his son.
The trailer also indicates that Appanna’s child, Ram Nandan, becomes an IAS official years later and confronts the politicians who destroyed Appanna’s dream to bring about social reform. According to the trailer, Anjali and Ram Charan play the parents of younger Ram Charan, who is romantically involved with Kiara Advani. This is a conventional mass drama premise, but the political drama, along with Shankar’s hallmark style of extravagant taking and spectacular action sequences, will deliver satisfying entertainment. Or so the trailer suggests.
The only minus with the trailer is its comedy components.
Thaman has composed the music for this film. SJ Suryah played the main villain. Dil Rajun is producing “Game Changer,” which will open in theaters on January 10, 2025.
