Mohanakrishna Indraganti feels that action-driven films are not the only thing that the audience want. His logic is that millions consume funny reels and memes every single day on social media.

“So, there definitely is appetite for fun and comedy,” the director says, ahead of the theatrical release of ‘Sarangapani Jathakam’ on Ap try il 25th.

The director has made a full-fledged comedy entertainer for the third time in his career.

“I have made a dozen movies so far. Besides ‘Ashta Chamma’ and ‘Ami Thumi’, none else are comedies. My previous film, ‘Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali’, was a serious drama. After it didn’t work on the commercial front, I thought of doing something fun-driven. Around that time, producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad felt that we should team up again, because we hadn’t collaborated after ‘Sammohanam’,” Indraganti says.
