There was a recent buzz that actress Anasuya Bharadwaj has stepped into the role of Silk Smitha, the famous actress in the 1980’s and 1990’s.
However, the actress has clarified that there is no such biopic that she has signed and that she is not playing Silk Smita’s role in any other movie. Taking to Twitter, she posted, “I am NOT playing #SilkSmita garu in any biopic. Thank you.”
Her statement would put an end to all the rumors.
There is a reason why such reports popped up. Anasuya recently posted a photograph of her looking into the mirror while applying make-up on social media. This image mirrored one of Silk Smitha’s similar photographs.

Silk Smitha, who committed suicide at the young age of 35, was a sex symbol. She had earned a great fan following. Many filmmakers have tried to make a biopic on her even though the Bollywood film ‘Dirty Picture’, was largely based on her life.
