Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming fantasy drama “Vishwambhara” has been facing multiple delays since its announcement. The film was initially planned for release in 2025 and was later scheduled for January 10, 2026. However, the makers postponed it again, making way for Chiranjeevi’s other film “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu” to release during the Sankranthi 2026 season.

The latest buzz is that “Vishwambhara” is now aiming for a monsoon release.

One of the major reasons behind the delay is said to be the criticism the film received after its teaser release, particularly regarding the quality of visual effects. The VFX work came under scrutiny from fans and industry observers.

Responding to the criticism, the film’s cinematographer Chota K Naidu clarified that modern films usually employ dedicated CGI technicians and visual effects supervisors who handle most of the VFX-related work.

He also made a striking claim about the scale of the project, stating that “Vishwambhara” is being produced on a massive budget of around Rs 400 crore. Whether a Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer can justify such a huge investment remains to be seen.

Directed by Vassishta, who previously made Bimbisara, the film features Trisha Krishnan, Ashika Ranganath, and Mouni Roy as the female leads.
