Janhvi Kapoor, known for her impeccable style, especially her love for South Indian sarees, paid a heartfelt tribute to the evergreen fashion icon Rekha. Rekha, celebrated for her timeless elegance in sarees, has long been a source of inspiration for many, and Janhvi chose to honor her legacy in a special way.
In a recent video shared on social media, Janhvi recreated Rekha’s classic look, posing gracefully in traditional attire reminiscent of the legendary actress. What made it even more special was Janhvi addressing Rekha as “Pedamma” (aunt or mother’s elder sister), reflecting the deep familial bond and respect. Janhvi’s mother, Sridevi, shared a close friendship with Rekha, adding emotional depth to the gesture.
Janhvi shared the video on the occasion of the restored re-release of Rekha’s iconic film Umrao Jaan, writing, “For my Pedamma #UmraoJaan the classic, in theatres all over India from tomorrow.”
On the work front, Janhvi is currently shooting for Peddi, where she stars opposite Ram Charan.
