“Game Changer,” starring Ram Charan, was released in theaters during Sankranthi season earlier this year and turned out to be a flop. Given director Shankar’s stature as a filmmaker, Ram Charan completely trusted his vision and followed him. But the film’s debacle put all parties involved, including Ram Charan and Shankar, in trouble.
Ram Charan quickly moved on and is currently busy filming “Peddi.”
One of the heavy trolling done was for the film’s silly script. And who wrote the script? None other than the young Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj!
However, Karthik Subbaraju, who is promoting his new film “Retro” starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, denies writing the entire script but giving only one-liners.
Karthik said he originally pitched a one-line idea about a humble IAS officer to Shankar. “That story eventually evolved into something entirely different.” He said that the story and screenplay underwent significant changes due to the involvement of multiple writers.
However, online users have begun slamming Karthik Saubbaraj for passing the blame. Why would Shankar credit Karthik as the main writer in the film if Karthik just gave a one-line idea? He is just avoiding further embarrassment for his poor script idea.
