Koratala Siva is one of the highest-paid directors in the Telugu cinema industry. With a near 100% success rate, he has attained stardom. His graph: Mirchi, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage, and Bharat Ane Nenu.

Now, he eyes a fifth hit with ‘Acharya’, which releases tomorrow. Featuring Megastar Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan in the lead roles, ‘Acharya’ has been in the making for nearly three years. “Every film is like an exam. I have written my exam papers well. I am confident of securing impressive marks from my teachers (audiences),” Koratala Siva said.

The director said the film is about two persons with different ideologies crossing paths and fighting for the same cause. “Siddha (Ram Charan) is a student of Ashramam. Acharya, played by Chiranjeevi, is a Naxalite. Why did Siddha go to forests and take up guns, and why did a Naxalite come to temple town leaving forests is the basic plot,” Koratala Siva revealed.

He adds, “There are many surprises in the story.”

Koratala Siva’s strength has always been narrating his stories with a focused approach. He doesn’t include a separate comedy track or forced romantic thread. ‘Acharya’ follows the same path. “Yet, I am aware of the star image of Chiranjeevi and what commercial elements his fans expect from,” he clarifies.

Koratala Siva will direct his next film with NTR.
