Mrunal Thakur attended the trailer launch event of “Dacoit,” her upcoming Telugu release. She spoke at length about the film and her career, but chose to sidestep questions about a reported item song.
Speculation has been rife that she will feature in an item number in Ram Charan’s “Peddi,” which would mark the first such appearance in her career. However, when asked directly by journalists, she avoided a clear response and instead spoke about how audiences in the Hindi belt often assume she is a Telugu girl. She added that she enjoys being part of rooted stories.
Notably, she neither confirmed nor denied her participation in the song, leaving room for continued speculation. The filming of the item number for “Peddi” is still pending.
Mrunal Thakur has so far appeared in five Telugu films: “Sita Ramam,” “Hi Nanna,” “The Family Star,” “Kalki 2898 AD” (cameo), and “Dacoit.”
