NBK112 launched: Nara Lokesh vows to develop film industry in Amaravati

Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Koratala Siva have officially joined hands for the first time. Their new project, tentatively called as “NBK112,” was launched with a grand ceremony on Thursday at Venkatapalem near Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh, who is also Balakrishna’s son-in-law, attended the event as the chief guest and sounded the clapboard for the muhurtham shot. A dialogue sequence featuring Balakrishna was filmed on the occasion. The actor appeared in a traditional Telugu panchekattu look.

Addressing the gathering later, Nara Lokesh said the Andhra Pradesh government is committed to developing the film industry in Amaravati and across the state. He stated that efforts are underway to create a strong ecosystem for filmmaking under the guidance and leadership of Balakrishna.

Speaking at the event, Balakrishna revealed that the government has already appointed a new chairman and members to the Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation. He also said a single-window clearance system for film shootings and related permissions would soon be implemented.

“This is the land of NTR and ANR. We must also develop the film industry here,” Balakrishna said.

He pointed out that Andhra Pradesh contributes a major share of Telugu cinema revenues and expressed confidence that Amaravati could emerge as a key filmmaking destination in the future.

“Nearly 70 percent of film revenues come from Andhra Pradesh, while Telangana accounts for the remaining share. The industry developed in Hyderabad because it was the capital of the undivided state and had the necessary infrastructure. Now Amaravati is growing rapidly and the state is progressing on all fronts. With everyone’s support, we can establish a strong film industry here as well,” he added.
