NTR and Ram Charan: Our bond grew as shoot progressed

RRR is ready for a massive release on the 7th of January, and the team met the Telugu media today and answered questions posed by the press. Here are some of the highlights.

Firstly, Rajamouli spoke about how the pandemic halted their shoot for close to two years, and the only thing which drove them forward was hope. Once things were set, the team worked with double the enthusiasm said Rajamouli.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who played Sita in the film, also attended the event. She said that it was a dream come true to wake up every morning and walk into the set of Rajamouli and learn how to sustain the emotion for the longest time in the character.

When asked about the bond both NTR and Ram Charan shared, the star heroes revealed that their bond only grew thicker after working on this film. Charan added that they never pretended to be friends and grew close and had their issues like any other close friends.

NTR also added that he worked hard on his role of ‘Bheem’ and went by the suggestions given by Rajamouli. NTR replied that it was the mental strength that was tough to maintain for such a long time than the physical transformation.

When asked Rajamouli as to how the presence of such big stars helped the film, the director said that the stars help people come to the theater. “From there on, it is their talent and characters which will keep the audience engaged,” he said.

On a funny note, Alia said that NTR and Charan were busy themselves and ignored her during the shoots. The same was elaborated by Rajamouli who said that NTR and Charan behaved like kids on the sets.

Rajamouli was asked about how such great heroes (freedom warriors Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sita Ramaraju) would dance to a Naatu Naatu song. The star director said that even the song has a special story and underlying emotion which would be understood only if they watch the film. The viral step only comes for just a few seconds, Rajamouli added.

Finally, when asked about how he gets such crazy ideas for his films, Rajamouli ended by saying that it is because he reads a lot of books and gets inspired through various characters.
