NTR, one of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars and a leading pan-Indian icon, has now sought legal protection to prevent the misuse of his name, image, and personality online. His lawyer J. Sai Deepak filed a petition in the Delhi High Court requesting safeguards against defamation and unauthorized commercial use.
Responding to the plea, the court has directed social media platforms to reply within three days and comply with the 2021 IT Rules. A detailed hearing is scheduled for December 22.
This development comes as Tollywood continues to face issues linked to deepfakes, online harassment, and fan rivalries.
Following the recent moves by actors like Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, and Mohan Babu, NTR’s petition points to a growing trend in the industry. More top stars are expected to pursue similar legal protection over their personality rights.
On the work front, NTR is currently filming for an action drama being directed by Prashanth Neel.
