‘OG’ smashes half-million dollar mark in advance sales

Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited gangster drama “OG” is riding a massive wave of hype. The producers’ confidence in the film’s box-office potential was evident when they opened advance bookings for North America premieres a month ahead of release. And the gamble has paid off big time. Within just four days, “OG” has already raked in over $500k in advance ticket sales

This phenomenal start is even bigger than Rajinikanth’s recent “Coolie,” which also saw record-breaking pre-sales. The trend clearly indicates that “OG” is on track to rewrite the North American box-office books.

Among Indian films, Kalki 2898 AD, Pushpa 2, Coolie, and RRR stand tall with over $3 million from their premiere shows in the US. With momentum this strong, industry trackers believe “OG” could well join this elite club if the trend sustains.

Set to premiere on September 24, 2025, “OG” is directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya. The film stars Pawan Kalyan as the intense Ojas Gambheera, with Priyanka Arul Mohan playing the female lead. So far, two songs from Thaman’s soundtrack—Firestorm and Suvvi Suvvi—have already struck a chord with fans, further amplifying the buzz.
