Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan has paid tribute to his martial arts mentor, Shihan Hussaini, who passed away on Monday night. Before venturing into films, Pawan Kalyan trained in martial arts under Hussaini in Madras (now Chennai) and earned karate belts after rigorous testing.

Expressing his grief on social media, Pawan Kalyan shared that he was planning to visit his guru on the 29th of this month but was heartbroken to learn of his passing.

“My martial arts guru, Shihan Hussaini, was a legendary martial artist, an exceptional archer, painter, sculptor, and musician who dedicated his life to revolutionizing martial arts and archery in India,” he wrote. “Knowing that he spent his final moments watching my interview with Thanthi TV just a day before his passing deeply touched my heart.”

He credited Hussaini for instilling discipline and resilience in him, adding, “The training I received under his guidance shaped me physically and mentally. His rigorous methods gave me the courage and determination that continue to guide me. His legacy in martial arts, archery, and fine arts will always be remembered.”

Pawan Kalyan showcased his martial arts skills in his debut film, Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi, and later in Thammudu and Johnny, among others.
