Political films turning out to be disasters at box office

Vyooham

With the upcoming elections, numerous films centered around political themes are being released in theaters. However, there is a lack of interest from people to watch them. Even more surprising is that these political films are not being embraced by the political supporters of the respective parties.

The most recent example is Ram Gopal Varma’s “Vyooham.” The film generated significant controversy prior to its release. It also encountered legal cases and was delayed multiple times for the same cause. Ram Gopal Varma announced that he was producing a dynamic political thriller. Upon its release on Saturday, March 2nd, its true power became evident. “Vyooham” received negative reviews from critics and was also rejected by supporters of the YSRC party.

The movie was intended to embarrass the TDP and Jana Sena parties but ended up as a damp squib. This is the third consecutive failure in recent political films.

The other two flops were “Yatra 2” (made in support of YSRCP) and “Rajadhani Files” (made in support of TDP).
