Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyan Selvan, is being made in two parts. The first part, ‘PS -1’, will release in theaters on 30th September 2022. The makers today unveiled the first look posters of the film’s main characters.
Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi, and Jayam Ravi are playing the lead roles. The film marks Aishwarya’s comeback to acting after four years. The film also stars Prakash Raj and Mohan Babu.
Allirajah Subaskaran of Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages on September 30. The same title applies to all language versions.
Based on the story of the historic Tamil novel of the same name and written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy, the film chronicles the story of Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I.
