Post-festival collections drop heavily

The Sankranthi season came as a boon to the COVID-19 affected Telugu film industry. All four films that were released during the festival season had registered staggering openings. A film like ‘Krack’ has benefited immensely from becoming a genuine hit.

The hype wore off now.

A fall in collections after the end of the holiday period is expected. But the numbers are too low. At many centers, the revenue is near to nil.

The trade pundits say there is an abnormal drop in the last two days for all movies in all areas. The collections for ‘Red’ and ‘Krack’ on Monday and Tuesday show that these movies have now run out. The trade is hoping to see a surge this weekend and on Republic day. But it is safe to say these two movies have almost ended their run.

The dubbed movie ‘Master’ (which is already a profitable venture for all) and ‘Alludu Adhurs’ (big flop) have already ended their run in the theaters.
