Prashanth Neel confirms ‘Salaar 2’ will begin after Dragon

Director Prashanth Neel recently revealed in an interview that he wants to move away from his signature dark gangster dramas and explore mythology-based storytelling. He said he already has an idea rooted in mythology and hopes to make such a film soon.

His comments sparked speculation that “Salaar 2” might not happen and that NTR’s “Dragon” could be his final film in the gangster-action space for now.

However, Neel has now made it clear that “Salaar 2” is very much on track. He hinted that work on the Prabhas-starrer is expected to begin after the release of “Dragon,” likely in 2027.

The clarification has come as a relief to Prabhas fans, who were uncertain about the sequel’s future.

At present, Prabhas is occupied with a packed lineup that includes Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Spirit,” Hanu Raghavapudi’s “Fauji,” and Nag Ashwin’s “Kalki 2.” The actor is expected to complete these projects before joining the sets of “Salaar 2.”
