This year celebrates the 100th birth anniversary of late N.T. Rama Rao, a legendary actor and politician. On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu released a commemorative coin of Rs 100 denomination in his honor.
The ceremony took place at New Delhi’s Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre.
The ceremony was attended by NT Rama Rao’s sons and daughters, including Nandamuri Balakrishna, Ramakrishna, Bhuvaneshwari, and Purandareshwari. Other members of the family were also present. The function was also attended by TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Droupadi Murmu, President of India, recalled NT Rama Rao’s outstanding contributions. She said that NT Rama Rao worked tirelessly for social justice. She further stated NTR’s portrayal of Lord Krishna and Lord Rama on screen will be remembered forever.
