Ramayana: Rama glimpse gets mixed response

The makers of “Ramayana”, starring Ranbir Kapoor, unveiled a video glimpse of Lord Rama on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The pan-Indian epic, based on the Valmiki Ramayana, has been one of the most anticipated projects in recent times.
The teaser has received a mixed response from audiences. While many agree that Ranbir Kapoor looks convincing as Lord Rama and a few visuals appear grand, the overall impact hasn’t quite met the high expectations.
The glimpse focuses largely on visuals and VFX, with no dialogue except for someone calling out “Rama.”
Some viewers feel the teaser lacks an awe-inspiring emotional build, which is crucial for a story of this scale. At the same time, it hasn’t drawn outright criticism either, resulting in a balanced but mixed reception overall.
The video also offers brief, blurred glimpses of Sai Pallavi as Sita and a back shot of Yash as Ravana, seemingly approaching the Pushpak Vimana.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, “Ramayana” is being made in two parts, with the first installment slated for a Diwali 2026 release.
