Singer Kalpana hospitalized following suicide attempt

Singer Kalpana is reportedly receiving treatment at a Hyderabad hospital following a suicide attempt. She was rescued by the police and neighbors.

Kalpana lives in a gated community in Nizampet. The security personnel, having grown suspicious when the doors of her residence remained unopened for two days, notified the homeowners’ association, which thereafter endeavored to contact her; nevertheless, she remained unresponsive. As a result, they reached out to her spouse residing in Chennai. The members of the association then notified the police. The patrol cops who arrived at the residence forcibly entered through the doors. They discovered Kalpana unconscious at her residence and then transported her to a nearby private hospital.

The police reported that Kalpana is currently undergoing treatment on a ventilator.

Singer Kalpana has established a distinguished reputation as both a vocalist and a dubbing artist, in addition to her role as a television personality. She has performed numerous chart-topping songs under the musical direction of Ilaiyaraaja, AR Rahman, Koti, among others. She has also engaged in the Bigg Boss reality television program.

In a previous interview, she disclosed that she had attempted suicide following her divorce and due to her fear about raising her three children. However, artists such as Chitra supported her and instilled confidence, enabling her to achieve prominence as a singer and television personality.
