RGV announces a lesbian crime thriller
Ram Gopal Varma is on a release spree of web movies. After releasing films like ‘Powerstar’, and ‘Climax’ on his OTT platform, he is gearing to release ‘Thriller’ and ‘Murder’. Now, he has announced a romantic thriller of a different kind.
Titled ‘Dangerous’, the film will explore the love relationship between two women to be played by actresses Naina Ganguly and Apsara Rani. But this is a crime thriller. RGV says, “the film will be the first in India to culturally elevate the stigma of LGBT after the honorable Supreme Court repealed section 377.”
Naina Ganguly and Apsara Rani are not new to RGV’s films.
Ram Gopal Varma is using crime, sex, and controversial political subjects to make web films.
“Love should never mean having to live in fear. Feeling proud to be part of this film,” Naina Ganguly said. She debuted in RGV’s political thriller ‘Vangaveeti’in which she played the role of Ratna Kumari, wife of Vangaveeti Ranga. She will also be seen in the upcoming release, ‘Johar’.
