The Andhra Pradesh police served filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma with a notice to appear before them for questioning.

The police officers of Prakasam district came to Ram Gopal Varma’s residence in Hyderabad and handed over to them copies of police charges lodged against him for his alleged derogatory posts against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, his son and state minister Nara Lokesh, and his daughter-in-law Brahmini.

On Sunday, the Maddipadu Police Station registered a case against Varma following a complaint from a local leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Now, the police asked RGV to appear before them for questioning.

Ram Gopal Varma made many films against the TDP and Nara Chandrababu Naidu earlier. Therefore, many see this as a vindictive act by the current government against the filmmaker.
