Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today arrested actress Rhea Chakraborty on charges of drug procurement and consumption after three days of questioning. It does not come as surprise, as the recent developments suggested that she would be taken into custody. NCB also arrested her brother Showik Chakraborty last week.
She will now be produced before the court along with three other accused in the case.
Media reports said she admitted to consuming drugs and also of arranging them for Sushant Singh Rajput. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been probing the case of Sushant Singh Rajput death case. ED and CBI had already grilled Rhea and now NCB arrested her on the charges of drug procurement.
Rhea Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput had lived together for a year but she left his home on June 8, a week before his death. He was found dead at his residence in Mumbai on June 14. Supreme Court handed the death case to CBI. During the agency’s probe, the officials found the WhatsApp chats that gave information about the drugs. Thus NCB got involved in the case.
